Sue and Tony Baker are a wonderful couple who live in Australia and are friends of Lorriane Halse-Smith and Kevin Smith. Sue teaches Tesol courses in both Australia and overseas.
Sue and Tony are in Vietnam attending a Hash Harriers gathering and series of bike rides. The wonderful people from Hash have donated 7 700 000 VND to the orphanage from their event. Thank you all to Hash that made this wonderful donation especially Maureen Daniels who helped organise it and thought of us. Sue and Tony came up to the orphanage for two nights and helped me with many things.
They bought over many things from Australia from friends for the children, helped me unpack and test lots of things for the summer school, spend time with the children and do lots of extra jobs. It has been wonderful to have them helping.
On Sunday Duy and his friends, from Nha Trang also joined us, bringing up a gift of lots of rice and then they came and helped us with the unpacking and carrying heavy boxes to the orphanage and other classroom for me.
Tony was so patient checking and repairing all the Leap pads, something I could never do, and Sue's organising skills were fantastic. Together they work as a team and it is wonderful to watch.
Giac Hanh took us up the mountain to show the views which they loved. Spending time with the master is always a wonderful experience. The children loved spending time with Sue and Tony made some new friends with some of the local children teaching them English. It is wonderful to meet so many great people and make new friends. I'm sure we will stay in contact.
Thank you both for helping so much, you have made a huge difference.
